Welcome to the Holthusen Ranch, where owner Randy Holthusen is committed to raising and selling the bucking best. Randy's roots in cattle go back to his 4-H days as a youngster where he grew up raising and showing cattle and riding in Little Britches Rodeos at the tender age of 7. His passion for rodeo really took off in 1986 as an amateur bull rider in the MRCA and URA. He rode in the IPRA one year and went to the Central Regional Finals where afterwards he entered the PRCA and successfully competed for several years. |
Randy is a member of the ABBI and has provided bulls for the PRCA Great Lakes Circuit Finals, BOA Finals, Mid States Rodeo Company, Cory Check Rodeo Bulls, the National High School Finals and more. His mission is to raise PBR quality bucking bulls and futurity and classic winners. His vision for raising bucking bulls ignited in 1989, when as part owner of a rodeo company, and still an active participant on the PRCA circuit, Randy launched his breeding program with proven bloodlines from Gene Owens, Harper & Morgan, and Plummer bulls. The Holthusen Bucking Bull herd now consists of proven cows and bulls out of Bodacious, Textan, Tony Lama Boots, Cash's College Fund, and Playboy bloodlines. |
In 1999, Randy hung up his riggin' and spurs, turning his focus from riding to raising bulls for the professional rodeo arena. He is continuing his dedicated approach to the bucking bull program by adding new genetics in 2008 with Whitewater Skoal, Houdini, and Mossy Oak Mudslinger bloodlines. |
